Prophecy: Truth vs. Myth
What is the Purpose of Prophecy?
Prophecy is God’s means of revealing Himself to Humanity. By revealing the future, God shows Himself as All Knowing, and in control of His Creation. It is the means by which He reassures those exiled on the Earth that He is God, and that He keeps His Word.
The Bible is full of Divine Prophecies that God would come to the Earth, defeat the satanic forces who ruled the ancient world, and the “meek” (humans) would inherit the Earth. Ps.37;11 & Mat.5:5.
Did that Happen? Yes it happened precisely as Prophesied.
The Secondary Purpose of Prophecy;
is to reassure those who have already witnessed the recorded history of the death and resurrection of Messiah in a.d.30, followed by His Second Coming, the collapse of the ancient world, and subsequent rise of humans rule on the Earth in a.d.70: that God keeps His Word. The recorded history, affirmed by the archaeological ruins of the ancient world, allows us to know that God’s interaction with our ancestors is a reality; not a “myth,” as disparaged in “academia, science, and theology.” If we will allow; historical reality will give us great Faith that God loves us; and, as Promised, He will restore all of the descendants of Adam and Eve to life after death here on Earth. See the links Faith vs. Belief and The Jews: Truth vs. Myths on the Navigator.
When a prophecy is fulfilled, it then becomes Verifiable History.
All of the prophecies issued to the ancient Israelites were fulfilled with the destruction of the temple and fall of Jerusalem in a.d.70. They are no longer prophetic, and do not foretell the future of modern man. Consequently, the apocalyptic prophecies of the Bible should only be studied as history.
A Prophet is one who receives knowledge of a future event directly from God.
The False Prophets of our modern religions, can only repeat the prophecies recorded in the history of ancient Israel. When asked to foretell the future, they reach for a Bible. The Bible is a closed history of God’s dealings with the ancient Israelites. Not a word has been added for two thousand years. That is a closed history. The ability to read biblical history does not make one a “Man of God,” or a prophet. Think about that!
False Apostles Described in Scripture:
For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works. 2 Cor. 11:13-15.
Grace perverters Gal. 1:6-8
Money lovers Rom.16:17,18
Christ Deniers 2:Pet. 2:1
Truth resister 2 Tim 3:8
Fable lovers 2 Tim. 4:3,4
Destitute of the Truth 1 Tim. 6:3-5
Bound by Tradition Mat. 15:9
Unstable 1 Tim 1:6,7
Cunningly deceptive Eph. 4:14
Lustful 2 Pet. 2:12-19. Many Christian, Jewish, and Muslim clerics have been found guilty of sex abuse with their parishioners, some have even sexually abused the children in their care.
Know this: if your religion tells you not to consider opposing views, question their interpretation of the Bible, or to think for yourself, it is not of God.
Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try (test) the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 1John 4:1.
That warning from God includes your religion. See the link, Religion: Truth vs. Myths, on the navigator.
Any religion formulated after the destruction of the temple and fall of Jerusalem in AD70, is a construct of the false prophets. Those who proselytized those religions in the dark-ages were not evil; they were deceived. The same can be said for those who follow them in the modern world.
There is one additional critical aspect of prophecy that you should keep in mind as you read the Bible. Prophecy is God’s means of revealing the future to humanity. It is the equivalent of a loving parent’s attempt to calm the fears of their children, as they contemplate the future. The biblical prophecies are designed to alleviate our fears, and give us peace while we are exiled in death on the Earth. By revealing the future, God is showing us that He has dominion over eternity. When you read His Prophecy / Promise to restore Adam and Eve to Life, know that He is making that Promise to YOU. Be at Peace.
For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. 1Cor.15: 21-22.
Therefore as by the offense of one [Adam] judgment came upon all men to condemnation: even so by the righteousness of one [Messiah] the free gift came upon all men unto justification [acquittal] and life. Rom 5:18
And I swear to you, that there has already been prepared, for every man who has been in his mother’s womb, a place for the repose of his soul, and for each one, a fixed period of time for how long he will be tried in this world.
Yes, children, do not deceive yourselves, God has already prepared a place for the soul of every man. Enoch 49:1-5.
